The finale of the call for proposals for the selection of a direction project for the co-production of La Traviata by G. Verdi for the OperaLombardia circuit took place on Monday, March 28th at Teatro Ponchielli in Cremona.
OperaLombardia, the co-production network promoted by Teatro Grande di Brescia, Teatro Ponchielli di Cremona, Teatro Donizetti di Bergamo, Teatro Sociale di Como and Teatro Fraschini di Pavia with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Regione Lombardia and Fondazione Cariplo, has launched a Competition for the creation of a direction project (scenes, costumes, lights and possible choreography), aimed for creative teams of Under35, for La Traviata by Giuseppe Verdi, which will be staged in the 2022/2023 Opera Seasons of the OperaLombardia Theatres, and which will see the participation of the young singers winners of the Aslico International Competition for Young Opera Singers 2022. This initiative is realised in co-production with Fondazione Rete Lirica delle Marche and in collaboration with Opera Europa.
As many as 50 creative teams coming from all over Europe responded to the call, and the proposals of three teams reached the finale: FÄLLT EIN BAUM, HOUSE OF DIVERSITY, TEAM DUPHOL’S.
The jury, gathered at Teatro Ponchielli and composed of Umberto Angelini (Superintendent at Teatro Grande di Brescia), Julia Lagahuzère (General Director at Opera for Peace), Barbara Minghetti (Head of Programming and Special Projects at Teatro Sociale di Como), Andrea Cigni (Superintendent at Teatro A. Ponchielli), Tommaso Lagattolla (scenographer and costume designer), has declared winner TEAM DUPHOL’S.
