The opening of the Opera and Ballet Season 2023 will be dedicated to a title very dear to the Teatro Grande in Brescia, Madama Butterfly<\/em> by Giacomo Puccini. In May 1904 in Brescia, after the unexpected fiasco of the Milanese premiere, the new \u201cBresciana\u201d version of the opera achieved a huge international success and sanctioned the immortality of Puccini\u2019s masterpiece. The show will be a new staging (international co-production by Teatri di Opera Lombardia, Teatro del Giglio di Lucca, Rahvusooper Estonia National Opera of Tallinn) in which will be proposed the second edition of the opera \u2013 the one born in Brescia.<\/p>\n

Conducting in Brescia one of the most famous Italian wands in the world, that of Maestro Riccardo Frizza, and Maestro Alessandro D\u2019Agostini in tourn\u00e9e, and directed by the renowned Greek director Rodula Gaitanou, as a continuation of that \u201cpink thread\u201d that distinguishes the three opening titles of the three years 2022-2024.<\/p>\n
